Hamburg, Germany – April 2, 2019 – FTS, a new exciting provider of wireless Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity solutions, announced it will be exhibiting at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2019 in Hamburg, Germany on 2-4 April 2019. With over 550 exhibitors and over 12,000 airline buyers attending, AIX is the premier event dedicated to passenger experience, covering the full spectrum from cabin innovations to in-flight entertainment and connectivity.
During the trade show, FTS will be unveiling new product updates and strategic partnerships, as part of its bid to disrupt the industry with new innovations. One of the most exciting new product to be unveiled at AIX will be XOP™, which stands for XStream Operations Platform. XOP is a sophisticated in-house developed ground software platform that enables Inflight connectivity operators to fully manage the IFC service, covering business logic and network connectivity.
“The beauty of XOP is that it is developed from the ground up, using the latest software technology and employing open architecture to allow easy interface with other systems and share data”, explained Mr Michael Chan, VP of Digital Innovations at FTS “When paired with FTS XStreamSAT systems, XOP works right out of the box to enable offering of connectivity service to airline passengers. IFC operators should not have to waste time and resources to develop the ground platform and can focus on improving service delivery to airlines and end users.” Visitors to the FTS booth can have an early preview of XOP in action.
After announcing the signing of 2 launch airline customers, Qingdao Airlines and Donghai Airlines, for FTS XstreamSAT Ka/Ku-band Inflight Connectivity systems last year, FTS is looking to complete installation and start inflight trials on both airlines in Q2 and Q3 of this year. “We are working closely with airline, authorities and partners and making strong progress. We received strong endorsement from CAAC (Civil Aviation Authority of China) who is earmarking this as a showcase of digital transformation brought about by the connected aircraft.” Said Mr Duan Shiping, CEO of FTS group. “One new feature we added with our partner is the ability to download and analyze in realtime, the data from the QAR (Quick Access Recorder) via the broadband connectivity. This will significantly improve flight safety and operational efficiency for the airlines. “
“2019 will be an exciting year for FTS as we will be commercially launching our XStreamSAT systems which will help open the door to more business internationally. We are also honored to be a supplier to COMAC (Commercial Aircraft of China) for the digital Cabin and will commence deliveries from this year.” added Mr Duan. “We hope to strengthen our current relationships with COMAC and other aircraft manufacturers through new innovations. Our engineers are already feverishly working on the next generation Wireless Access Points (wifi6) and Wireless Inseat Monitors that should leapfrog current competitions”.
